Verb/Adj stem + -거든(요) · N + 이거든(요) [consonant ending] / 거든(요) [vowel ending]
Use -거든요 to give background information or explain the reason for what you just said. It comes AFTER the main statement — like saying 'you see' or 'the thing is' at the end.

규칙
Statement first, then -거든요 · 순서Statement → 거든요 (explanation follows)
'왜 우산 가져가?' → '비가 오거든.' (It's raining, you see.)
'왜 안 먹어?' → '배가 불거든.' (I'm full, that's why.)

Formal vs informal · 거든 vs 거든요-거든 = informal (friends, family, kids)
